Chilling at some local cafes is one of the best things to do besides visiting the mountains when i spend my days in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In Nimman area, it seems effortless to find one that you will fall in love with. Here I share some of my own experience.
My philosophy!! Fell in love already before I tried their food haha.
I wanted to try every dessert (basically everything) on their menu but it was impossible because i was on my own. The first two times I had thai milk tea crepe cake and watermelon cake. The crepe cake and strawberries ice cube were so delicious!!! I really felt i could do another round lol. the watermelon cake was a bit not as expected maybe because i already had a fantastic experience at Black Star Pastry in Sydney.
The last visit to Local Cafe I chose to go in the morning so that i had plenty of room in my stomach haha. I ordered an apple sorbet (not for dessert tho cuz i had fruits every morning to start a day), salad and korean noodles which is recommend on the menu. I didnt realize they were instant noodles ( it was actually written on the menu @@) they tasted good indeed but i felt a bit guilty. Good thing the hot spring egg and japanese crab meat and fried garlic made up for it. (three favorites in a row, p.s i can make this dish at home and i will try someday) The salad was fresh and good and i was so happy to find out there were also crab meat on top which i thought they were carrots at the beginning!! :D
Writing this post i realized that i didnt order any coffee here, just because they have too many choices of refreshing drinks made of fresh fruits and they all taste good. Plus, I know somewhere sells really good coffee.
The Ristr8to Coffee
“Ristr8to Coffee ChiangMai is a fashionable place to sip gourmet coffee and see world award winning Latte Art.”
I dont know how to tell the quality of coffee, as long as it tastes good its good coffee to me. I was too greedy to have two cups because i wanted to try their homemade ice cream but also something hot so I had a satan latte after the affogato. btw they were blue vanilla and cheese ice cream just in case you wonder.

Before I left Chiang Mai I decided to treat myself a more deluxe meal since i controlled my budget and ate very local during the whole time. I chose Tichaa Tearoom by HARNN because it is recommend on some websites and magazines. When i got there lunch time was over and i was the only customer. I was not hungry at all so i just ordered some snack and dessert instead of the tea set.
The thai milk tea custard and ginger crème brûlée were just soooo my taste. perfect match with my organic tea (already forgot the name).
it took me some time to find its location until i asked for help from two locals. then i found it just next to the beautiful tree i saw from the other side of an alley i passed a few times when i was searching for this restaurant. sometimes i just love this kind of beautiful encounters. and flowers always cheer me up.
